Eustream and FGSZ announce the launch of the new Open Season binding phase for the planned SK-HU Interconnector. This re-launched Open Season procedure follows up the first binding phase which took place in the first half of 2010, when market interest was evaluated as non-sufficient for the construction of the Hungarian part of the pipeline. As a result, Eustream and FGSZ discussed the outcome of the previous phases and decided to launch another round of the Open Season binding phase. Both parties co-operated in order to adjust conditions of the project in order to offer more flexibility to participants and attract further market interest whereas technological design remains the same. Commercial terms were adjusted in several aspects in order to accommodate market needs, which mean mostly:
- more flexibility in definition of lot and in lot duration
- softened threshold for economical viability
- improved rules for financial guarantees
- start of operation shifted to the beginning of January 2014
In this re-launched binding phase Eustream and FGSZ intend to re-offer transmission capacities to the market in their respective parts of the interconnector. All participants are invited to submit their binding bids for the transmission capacity of the SK-HU Interconnector. Please note that Participants from the previous binding phase do not need to register again – please consult the Rules of the Open Season below.
